I am for red light cameras. I have seen accidents at 1382 and 67 and Pleasant Run and 67. Maybe this would help.

Traffic and traffic violators continue to increase. Red light "runners" are prevalent at many interesection throught the City, especially on FM1382 from the Clark Road inetrsection in High Pointe to Cockrell Hill on the City's east side. Red light camera programs are "in vogue" and are a good way to control inetersections which are prone to "red light runners". On Tuesday, August 29, 2006, Cedar Hill Police Chief Steve Rhodes briefed the City Council on the Red Light Camera Program. I suspect we will see Cedar Hill join Duncanville and other Metroplex cities in adopting red light camers.

I don't think red light cameras are necessary unless red light running becomes a really serious problem. I have not noticed serious or numerous violations in Cedar Hill.
