High Pointe Residents Are HPPID Board Election Candidates

Five of Cedar Hill’s High Pointe residents have filed for the September 25, 2006, High Pointe Public Improvement District #1 election. Three of the current board directors will complete their two-year terms of office on September 30, 2006. Incumbent Area 1 Director Marty Rogers, a resident of the Bradford Park sub-division, and long time incumbent Area 2 Director Orville Haggard, a resident of The Meadows sub-division, have not filed for re-election. Long time incumbent At Large Director Rod Reed, a resident of the Cumberland sub-division and a retired US Army officer and professional logistician, has filed for the Area 1 Director vacancy. Candidates for the Area 2 directorship include Kelvin Crump and Jan Lovell, both residents of the Heritage sub-division. Kevin is a Deputy Sheriff and has served with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department for seventeen years. Jan formerly served as the Director of Crescent Point Retirement Community and was Chairman of Northwood University’s Hotel and Restaurant Management program for twenty years. At Large Director candidates include Jerry Gregory, a resident of the Sweetbriar sub-division, and Gerald Andrews, a resident of the Creekside sub-division. Election ballots and candidate bio-sketches are also available from the Receptionist at Cedar Hill’s City Hall, and at the Check Out Desk, at the Zula Bryant Wylie Library. Early voting is until noon an Friday, September 22, 2006. In-person voting will be between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 25, 2006. at High Pointe Baptist Church, 101 High Pointe Lane.
