High Pointe PID Board of Directors schedules election.

September is election month for the Cedar Hill Public Improvement District #1, more commonly known as the High Pointe PID.

Four of the Board’s seven positions will be up for election, and we would like to urge anyone interested in serving the High Pointe community to run for a board membership.

The High Pointe Public Improvement District has accomplished so much since it’s inceptition. However, it takes dedicated people  from the community to step up to the plate to make decisions that affect what High Pointe will look like in times to come.

The PID manages nearly $400, 000 annually, and before long the PID will handle half a million dollars a year.

NOW is the time for YOU to consider giving a little of your time back to your community!

The four board positions that are open are as follows:                  

                      Area 3  Director - one position - all homeowners who live west of New Clark Road and south of Wintergreen Road are elegible for a board position.

                    At Large Director  - three positions  - there are three board positions open to ANY homeowner of High Pointe.

Being elected to the PID board means attending several meetings during the year.  Generally the board meets in October, November, February, April, May, June, August, and September. The meetings normally last from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.  The board consists of a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. These are board elected positions.

In addition there are committees that will meet occassionally to consider such things as fencing, landscaping, and other items vital to this community.

If you are considering running for the PID board, you need to have submit the following:

Bio sketch ( short), including your name and address and how long you lived in High Pointe  Reason why you want to be on the PID board.  If you like to include other pertinent information, feel free to do so, but remember to keep it short.

All of this information must received no later than 12:00 noon, August 30, 2007.

This meeting is a regularly scheduled meeting of the HPPID Board of Directors and is for the purpose of conducting business matters that impact on the High Pointe community. The meeting will include discussion of major expenditures recommended for inclusion in HPPID’s 2007-2008 fiscal year budget.  Citizen’s Forum will also be conducted.

All Cedar Hill residents are welcome to attend.  Candidates for the upcoming City Council and CHISD school board election have been invited to express their goals and objectives for the community.

Many residents are concerned about the safety of our streets. Please take this opportunity to share ideas on how to keep High Pointe safe. Do you think security cameras wil help? What about neighborhood watch programs? Would you be willing to pay more in taxes to help the city pay for more police officers?

Weather permitting, on or about December 6,  LandWorks, HPPID’s Landscape Contractor, will begin the planting of replacement qualiity hardwood trees along the North side of New Clark between High Pointe Lane and Straus Road.   Initially approximately 30 Live Oaks and Cedar Elms will be planted.

Tree planting is one of the capital improvement projects HPPID will undertake during the new fiscal year which runs from October 1, 2006, thru September 30, 2007.  For a complete listing of all capital improvement projects visit HPPID’s web site at http://www.highpointeinfo.org.  On the left side of the Home page “click” on Link to Approved Budget for fiscal year 2006-2007. 

Should HPPID include more tree planting in High Pointe?  What types of trees and where should they be planted?  Provide your comments and let HPPID’s Board of Directors know your opinion.

The Board of Directors of the Cedar Hill Public Improvement District #1 at High Pointe (HPPID) extends the warmest of Seasons Greetings to all our fellow residents in High Pointe. We sincerely hope that despite all the unrest and turmoil in The World this is a joyous season for your families and you. Take time to be together, enjoy the amenities of the season and give thanks to God for your countless blessings.The Board of Directors will not conduct regular meetings during the months of December and January. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2007. Look for the High Pointe PID’s Holiday Lighting Program to brighten the streets of the community once again. This program is a favorite of the directors and many of our neighbors. We hope you will enjoy. The program will begin following the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Cedar Hill ISD Board of Trustees invites the public to meet & greet the final candidates for the superintendent position.
